The vast sub-continent of India offers a range of culinary delights as rich and diverse as its people and history, each region having its own unique cooking style. One element however unites these styles, the use of spices to create the wonderful flavours and aromas of Indian cuisine that are appreciated all over the world.
From subtle, delicately flavoured dishes such as Lamb Korma from the North, with its hint of Persian and Eastern origins to the fiery, hotly spiced Vindaloos of the South. We will look at individual spices and their uses, marinades, appetizers, main courses and side dishes, accompaniments and cool refreshing desserts.
Would you like to add some spicy new dishes to your repertoire? Then this is the day for you.
Forget the Friday night take-away, come along to our Indian Cookery day and spice up your life! We will be creating an exciting mix of some of your favourite Indian dishes and more unusual ones you may not be familiar with. Everything from starters, curries (some hot, some not), stir-fries, side dishes to cooking delectable desserts. A day not to be missed.
